Turn this classic fail into a gold mine.
It’s February, which means that about 80% of our new year's resolutions have failed.
This could be a depressing statistic - hey, you might even be feeling a little down about some “failed” intentions right now - but I actually think resolution “failure” is a total gold mine for anyone really interested in change.
Hear me out.
One of the main reasons me, my clients…humans…don’t change is that we get stuck in old patterns. Basically habits of thinking, believing, and doing that are at odds with our stated goals.
Our stated goals tend to be more outwardly visible actions, our patterns tend to be unconscious.
The 20% of resolutions that stick represent people who were clear about the underlying pattern that needed to shift so that the outward goal could be realized.
So if you set an intention of any kind in the last month … and you aren’t living into it … REJOICE!
You are massively closer to understanding what will really make you successful. That is…you now have all the material you need to get clear about the underlying pattern.
This is the perfect opportunity to get crazy curious about what habits & patterns are getting in the way of what you want.
HUGE BONUS - if you are like most of the world, there are probably 3-7 of the same patterns that keep repeating themselves to trip you up regardless of what you are tackling.
So, what you learn about this situation will be infinitely useful in other areas of your life.
Okay so how do you dig a little deeper and discover the underlying habits of thought, belief, and action?
One simple technique is to “Teach the Class” - an activity I first learned from the great guides over at the Conscious Leadership Group.
This is totally acceptable to do by yourself. But super fun to do with some other person who has also failed recently with an intention or resolution.
This partner will not be hard to find…8 of the next 10 people you see will fit the bill perfectly ;-).
Important note before you begin: If you are committed to NOT having fun, I don’t recommend this activity. See if you can have some fun with this [FIRST NAME GOES HERE]...because after all...
“I improved my life by taking everything seriously,” said NO ONE. EVER.
Enjoy!
Much Love,

P.S. If you aren't sure who to share this with...pick me! I LOVE this activity and I would be delighted to find the fun in it with you!
