Can you make yourself insight prone?

I’m fascinated by the way complex problems are sometimes solved easily – like when something just clicks into place and the path forward is obvious.

How do we make ourselves more prone to these moments of clarity?

There are a lot of different practices that can incline us towards these events of ease & insight.

But a really simple one is just to notice what kind of questions you are asking about the problem.

Are you asking figure-it-out type questions?

Figure-it-out questions assume one or few correct answers. They imply an answer that might be discoverable if only you had the right experience or knowledge. In theory you could google a figure-it-out question and get the (correct!) answer.

Or, are you asking a wonder type question?

Wonder questions don’t require us to find the most direct and efficient route to an answer. They assume very few limitations on future possibilities. They encourage us to make unexpected relationships & patterns.

What kinds of questions do you typically ask yourself or others?

What might happen if you switch it up?

Much love,
